Generally, files named README* have information important to users of the
software. README.git, in contrast, appears to effectively work as a
boolean--important to the build process, but irrelevant to the general user.
The _content_ of the file--irrelevant to its function--does serve useful
documentary purpose, but not README-level one: this content is not of general
interest to users of the software.
The file could be named anything else and still perform its role, without
enticing users into thinking it contains information they need to know.
