Follow-up Comment #2, bug #68004 (group groff): This patch integrated just fine.
I've completed in-tree and out-of-tree builds both with my "fast build"
scenario (which doesn't produce a distribution archive but does turn off
dependency tracking and enables a groaning board of C and C++ compiler
warnings) and with "make distcheck".
This was on only one machine architecture, and the dishwater-dullest one at
that (x86-64), but it would be deeply surprising if these changes failed on a
different ISA, given that they don't touch compiled code at all.
Looks like a go for inclusion in _groff_ 1.24.0 to me. Expect to see it in my
next push to the master branch.
