Status => Confirmed: can reproduce erroneous behavior with _groff _ Git HEAD
and correct behavior with _groff_ 1.23.0.
Severity => Important: regression from previous _groff_ release.
Assigning to self; I'm certain I'm the one who screwed it up, so I'm
theoretically the best situated to understand the logic error causing the
problem.
Thanks for catching this before we released, Alexis! I perceive an additional
automated test case in the near future.
