Follow-up Comment #2, bug #68329 (group groff):

One advantage to a historical tree cited in that thread is that it is
advertised as something that can be destroyed and re-created as necessary when
new data comes to light.  So a good-enough snapshot of a release is fine as a
placeholder until something more authenticatable comes along.
