Not a new problem. _groff_ versions 1.24.1, 1.24.0, and 1.23.0 all look bad,
and _groff_ 1.22.4 and 1.22.3 look even worse, presumably because not many
people were viewing _mdoc_(7) documents with _gxditview_(1).
_mdoc_ just needs some logic copied over from _man_.
