first of all, the GRUB now installs on my hardrive and it works on my
486! ya! great job!

and now some bugs I found:

1. I had my BIOS detect my primary master but not the primary slave. I
tried to set root= (hd1,0) and it said no disk was there, which is
fine. but when I tried to set the root to (hd0,0) it said

unknown file system, type 0x83

Its an xt2fs linux partition. But I could boot (hd0,0) if I didn't try
to set the root to (hd1,0) first. I setup the primary slave in the
BIOS and both hds booted from the GRUB just fine.

2. I tried to edit a menu entry to point to a different kernel. It
popped me into a mini command prompt with the line ready for editing.

grub> kernel= (hd0,0)/boot/vmlinuz root=/dev/hda1

the kernel I wanted to change to was vmlinuz-2.0.36, so I moved the
cursor to the end of vmlinuz and tab completed. it completed but
overwrote part of the 'root=..' part.

Other than that, no problems!
