should be concerned on whether the "d" option is included as the
default.
  I would like to thank you for all the effort you have put into grub. 
The commercial bootloader I was using prior to this was a nightmare. 
After the fiasco with that commercial bootloader I installed grub and a
number of different backup booting methods so that I wouldn't be caught
flatfooted again.  My machine is mission critical to my work.
  You are correct though, I should not be concerned because I do have
backup booting capabilities.
