I just came across the EFI specification from Intel (implemented on the current ia64 computers). This sounds very similiar to what grub does (Grub has more features, but they also have builtin commands and scripting feature and an execution platform). The EFI specification (and a sample imeplementation) is available at: http://developer.intel.com/technology/efi/efi.htm Can we achieve some compatibility to this ?
