Hallo GRUB Hackers !

Especially in a networked environment, it could be a good
idea, if grub can copy files from a tftp server to local
disk. This would be the perfect way to update grub itself
for example or install it to a local system.

    * Booting diskless GRUB, copying the stage1 and stage2
file (and perhaps menu.lst) to a local drive, and
        run the setup command.

        This would be very convinient.

Further it would be possible to overwrite configuration files,
not only the 'menu.lst' but also file used for different OS's
like environment files loaded as module later on (and at this
point I don't speak about an editor......)

Perhaps it is possible to write local files.

Further it could be interesting to write back files via tftp
to the server, but this is not so important.

(I don't mean, that GRUB should become an full OS !!)

With friendly regards

        Christoph Plattner
