Hi:
I have been using GRUB 0.4 since 1997 to multiboot DOS, WIN95, and Linux
and recently changed to 0.5.93 .
I discovered your hide / unhide partitions, and am testing giving DOS and
WIN95 each their own partition, but hiding my DOS from WIN95. I have all
my (good) disk utilities on the DOS partition along with GRUB. But when
I hide that partition, GRUB cannot find the menu.lst configuration file.
I can put the menu.lst on the Linux partition and even hda5, an extended
partition, but I would prefer if GRUB treated hidden type 16h as a DOS
rather than unknown OS partition.
I really like GRUB, like how I can configure it in DOS, and now really
like the hide / unhide feature.
There is another minor work-around while using a DOS editor, is my editor
puts a 1Ah at the end of the menu.lst file. This causes GRUB to blank the
menu screen. I must fix it with Norton Disk Editor by shorting the file
size by 1 byte.
Thanks for the continued work with this magnificent boot loader.
Sincerely
F. Hykes, Houston,TX
