-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

This is wierd; I had grub 0.5.95 working from floppy, booting my
machine; then I updated the firmware in a DOC2000 (http://m-sys.com)
suddenly booting from the floppy would give "Read Error" right after
stage 2. So booting looks like this:

stage1 stage2 Read Error

On print Read Error it hangs forever, but Ctl-Alt-Del still works.

Taking the DOC out of the machine didn't help; updating my motherboards
BIOS didn't help; resetting the machines BIOS settings to defaults didn't
help.

And in case it is the floppy at fault, I tried this with 3 different
floppies, and got them to boot on other machines without problem.
Also, I can boot an MSDOS floppy without problem; LILO still works
fine on the harddrive.

Has anyone encountered a similar error?

Jonathan

PS: I get the same error with 0.5.96, latest CVS checkout, but I have
to commend you guys on documentation, it has really shaped up. The
Tutorial is excellent.

It isn't true unless it makes you laugh, but you don't
really understand it till it makes you cry.
