grub 0.5.95 and setup command

Hello,

I just tried to install the new version with the setup command. This
fails with 'file not found'.

The reason for this is that I have a partition that gets mounted as
/boot. All files reside on /boot/grub (linux filesystem), but grub
searches only (hd0,4)/boot/grub/stage* and sees only
(hd0,4)/grub/stage*.

Is there an easy way to fix this ? Currently I use the 'install'
command.
