GRUB hangs accessing my IDE Disk (37GB model).

  Please update your mainboard BIOS to the newest
  version and retry. Big disks (i.e. >32GB) are
  triggering formerly unknown bugs in various BIOSes!

  An Example: Upgrading my ASUS-P3BF from V1004 to 
  V1007beta1 resolved my problems.
