There is an bug in grub-0.5.96 :
If the device.map file contains a final Newline
(which I am used to since other problems rely on this)
and therefore contains a line with a single newline. This
line is considered to be a valid entry. The grub-install
script does not recognize this error though grub complains
about a missing open parenthesis. I guess the error return
code somehow is ignored by grub-install.
The error leads to this behaviour:
"GRUB" is printed as boot message but then it just cannot
proceed to (what I think is stage2)
