yep. After exchanging the disks.

According to the manual, this is the same as
root (hd1,0)
setup (hd1)
"If image_device is specified, then find the GRUB images (see section 9.
GRUB image files) in the device image_device, otherwise use the current
root device, which can be set by the command root."
I remember to had to enter special strings ("hdd will be 0x80") in LILO but
thought that grub was clever enough to look on the "current" harddisk, which
ever this will be. Once installed I can boot from a grub enabled harddisk
regardless which drive number it is... I just have to install it having the
target drive as "IDE primary master".
