Hi all,

When network booting I have the following error:
  Probing...[EEPRO100]
 Error:12 invalid device requested

I Have recently download and compiled grub (grub-0.5.96.1) with network
boot and diskless support:

./configure --prefix=/usr/local/grub/ --enable-eepro100 --enable-diskless

Then, I have created the a grub bootable floppy as explained in the file
grub.info-1.

I have then transferred the floppy image on a flash card. This beacuse I
have a blade motherboard with a slot for a flash card (it treat it as a
normal hard disk).

Using lspci utils I can see that the NIC on my card is effectively an
intell 82559ER
which is suitable for eepro100.

After the grub boot I entered

grub> dhcp
But at this point I got the following error messages:

Probing...[EEPRO100]
Error:12 invalid device requested

grub> dhcp

But at this point I got the following error messages:

I have done almost the same thing with etherboot and I had no problem in
detecting the NIC ..

What have I missed ?

Thanks in advance

P.S.

I am not in the mailing list for the moment

-Corrado
