partition hiding

Hello I am having a problem configuring grub.  I have mandrake 8.2 linux installed to the ide1 slave 4 gig hard drive and am booting from this drive.  I have windows me installed on my onboard highpoint controller ata100 ibm drive.  Linux loads up fine.  What I am having trouble with is hiding the linux drive when I boot windows.  I do not want windows detecting this drive.  I have tried inserting hide (hd0,0) in various places in the script and it just isnt working!
