I don't think you need scsi emulation for a DVD/CD-ROM drive.

But if you would need it, you'd just add 'hda=ide-scsi' to the 'kernel'
line, so it would read:

kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.4.7-10 ro root=/dev/hde2 hdc=ide-scsi hda=ide-scsi
