Hi all,

I don't dare to experiment with this so I would be very grateful if
someone would know the answer.

My problem is, that I am building a bootable hard drive in my
workstation which, when it is done, I want to move to some other
machine. So while the disk is called, say hdd, in my workstation, it
will be hda in the target machine. So how do I install grub on that
drive ?

Do I do:

grub > root(hd0,0)
grub > setup(hd3)

or what ? I am naturally a little nervous about having grub accidentally
writing to hda in my workstation..

Thanks in advance,
  jules
