OK, I�ll try...;-) When I boot from the floppy, the grub stage2 is (via --enable-preset-menu=FILE) configured to do a dhcp-request. While grub tries to initialize the NIC, the posted error occures and grub "falls" to its shell, instead of doing a dhcp and then the network boot. After the first or sometimes after the second reboot (ctrl-alt del), all is going well, the NIC is initialized properly and the network bootimage loads.
