Hello. I'm not sure I'm the best person to say that, because i'm a newbie to
FreeBSD [switched from linux]. The /dev/radxxx devices work, but the problem
is, that grub-install script [not grub binary itself] compares /dev/radxxx names
to those printed by mount(8) to find the root partition, and these are in
/dev/adxxx format, which results in 'root partition doesn't have a 
corresponding BIOS drive'. 
The workaround with deleting 'r' from device names in grub install works for me
but i'm not sure if it's BSD-philosophy compatible :)
