AFAIK, the current CVS version is quite stable, so I'm going to release the next version really soon.
One question is what version number it should have. My original plan was, as written in the file TODO, that 1.0 would be released after the Multiboot Specification 0.7 and its new features were finished up. But, honestly speaking, I'm not keen to add new features into the current GRUB, even if they are really useful. The implementation really sucks. After I developed PUPA (the next generation of GRUB), I found myself not having willing to touch the source code any longer. Thus, I'm now thinking about releasing the next version as 1.0 rather than 0.94 and keeping it in "maintenance mode" forever. What do you think? Also, I think I need someone who maintains the current line of GRUB instead of me, because I myself have many TODO items on PUPA before importing it as GRUB 2.
