Hello from Gregg C Levine
That's way too old. Ancient history even. Try one of the 0.9x series
versions, or even the code from CVS. Your problem is that the older
versions don't match the current file system. And please try not to
send HTML mail, it clogs bandwith.

Subject: Unable to boot reiserfs with grub

Hello,

I am trying to boot a reiserfs system using grub (0.5.96.1). Grub is
not finding a valid filesystem. I noticed in the grub code that the
REISERFS_MAX_SUPPORTED_VERSION is 2. However I am using version 3.6.8
of reiserfs.

Does grub work with reiserfs versions > 2 ? Is there a more recent
version of grub that I should be using ? Please let me know.

Thanks,
Kam
