absolutely, I cross-checked, the current version works ok,
but is it really necessary at all? I know there were times
where elder versions of texinfo.tex did not work properly
with texi2pdf, but with current versions the problems seem
to have vaporized. Why then should grub have a version of
texinfo.tex in the cvs tree.

afaik, I'm not allowed to write into cvs (and I also do not
want to).
