Hi,
I can't get grub to install properly. I installed RH 9.0 in an HP
vectra xw. I have a single scsi hard drive and a ide zip drive
plus a scsi tape and ide floppy. The installation went fine,
however I can't boot from the hard disk. I tried unsuccesfully
to install grub but no avail. Here are some of the highlights:
1) I ran:
grub-install /dev/sda
2) I ran:
grub> root (hd1,0)
grub> setup /dev/sda
However when I try to boot from the hard disk it just prints the
prompt "GRUB" and hangs. Under some variations of the above steps
y hangs with the message "GRUB Hard disk error". I would
appreciate any clues. Thanks in advance.
