I also have a vectra model xw and I can't get grub (GNU GRUB 0.93)
to work. I followed the manual but after that, grub comes up with
the message "GRUB Hard disk error". I have a single SCSI hard disk
(/dev/sda)/(hd1) and a zip drive (/dev/hdd). I set the bios to boot
from the scsi disk. So far every message that grub prints out
during "setup" appears to be successful. Is there any way to
verify the installation without having to go through an actual
booting process? Thanks.

Dan
