Summary: Grub 0.93 refuses to boot from Highpoint 370/2 IDE gives out Error 21
Original Submission: I have a soyo P4 mainboard which has a on board Highpoint
370/372 RAID IDE Controller, even when using the controller in NON RAID mode, Grub
0.93 just craps out with an Error 21 after trying to load stage 2, it's remarkable to
mention that i solved the problem by rolling back to Grub 0.92 that seems to handle
the hpt controller in the right way, if i boot with a grub floppy into the grub
console i can see the hard disk connected to the hpt controller detected as hd0
the disk is used to boot linux, and has 3 partitions (boot, swap, root) formatted with
ext3 FS.

I also have a onboard Highpoint 370 controller (on an ABIT-VP6) and am getting Error
21 when Grub tries to load the next stage.
With grub loaded from a floppy, it works fine, and I can do setup fine, but loading
grub from the hard disk still fails.
It didn't have this problem before I upgraded the BIOS for the motherboard and HPT370.
Downgrading to the grub in debian woody (0.91) doesn't help.
In fact, even moving the drive to the via686 controller instead of the HPT370
controller still seems to have problems as long as the HPT370 is enabled.
Disabling the HPT370 in BIOS makes grub happy again.
What did I want one of those for anyway.
