Follow-up Comment #2, bugs #11788 (project grub):
I had this problem with gcc from Slakware 9.1, so I upgrade Linux to Slakware
10 and problem is gone. It's gcc 3.3.4 in Slak 10.
Good luck in upgrading gcc... ;)
