Follow-up Comment #5, bug #1184 (project grub):
I am experiencing something similar to this problem with an IBM eServer 326
(Opteron; I believe IBM designs their motherboards in house, but I could
easily be wrong). Perhaps by being patient as a rock, I've noticed that GRUB
actually does work - but it takes 14 minutes after the BIOS init for GRUB to
get to the "GRUB Loading stage2..." message.
