Without knowing what you were going to put on this laptop, I can only
offer limited advice. I suspect the majority of the group with offer
similar claims but here goes. To remove the GRUB materials from the
MBR, from a DOS prompt using your DOS6.xx and later boot disk, simply
enter fdisk/mbr and hit the enter key. Then when you reboot the laptop
your complaint will be resolved.

There are other issues of course, but that's the simple ones.
