I did, in fact, get this machine to warm boot under FC4, after fiddling around with the fstab (the FC4 install had messed up the swap entry). Unfortunately, I was unable to repeat this result later when I reinstalled FC4. The point is that there's nothing inherently wrong with the Bios.
