Follow-up Comment #2, bug #15120 (project grub):
I just resolved the error. My original line was:
splashimage=(hd0,0)/grub/splash.xpm.gz
I replaced the original splash-line by this one:
splashimage=(hd0,0)/boot/grub/splash.xpm.gz
Which should be wrong because /dev/hda1 is my boot partition which is mounted
at /boot (i exactly followed the gentoo handbook...), so the "boot"-directory
should not exist in (hd0,0), or am i missing something here (and does the
gentoo handbook supply me with wrong information)?
My the way, this problem only seems to happen on gentoo-based systems, maybe
they made a wrong patch or something?
