Hi,
Please go to the [EMAIL PROTECTED] list and look
for the recent thread 'grub hell'.
No one seems to know what the problem is.
Best regards,

Tab completion at the grub prompt only finds the
second drive which it insists on calling the first
contrary to device.map.
If the BIOS does not show your grub two hard drives is not GRUB's fault
but the BIOS one.
I think you should realise that you have only one hard disk (which it is
the second one although it is detected as the first one) but that you
can access the second hard disk once the linux kernel is loaded.
You can check Super Grub Disk -> Boot & Tools -> Show partitions to
check if you have only hard disk or two, I suppose it will show you only
one hard disk. If, by any chance, it shows you two hard disks you can
install it manually to your hard disk.
Good luck.
