Thanks for your reply. Since reading it, I have read up some on the ext3 256 byte inode problem, which I had no clue about. It seems to be an issue if you are trying to use a a pre-0.97-21 GRUB to boot to a filesystem with 256-byte inodes (such as FC9 uses).
This is not the case for me - I am having trouble booting to a 128-byte inode system (FC7) with a 0.97-33 GRUB (installed by FC9).
