Follow-up Comment #2, bug #25200 (project grub):
Calling /usr/sbin/grub-setup /dev/sda seems to work here, even though, again
there's no stdout and exit is 0.
For kicks, I was just calling the /usr/sbin/grub-install manually as for some
reason, grub is being found on sda mbr, but it's next boot step is getting
something like a device not found error.
I've posted "Grub2 not booting" to the grub-bugs mailing list.
(w/i the following verbose output, make note /boot/grub/grub.cfg.1 ==
/boot/grub/grub.cfg (tried to change all of them, but looks like I missed
renaming one or two instances. :-/)
