I'm not sure how grub-mkrescue worked when you filed this, but nowadays I
think this should append to the configuration file rather than overwriting it.
As it is in your patch, there isn't all that much benefit of --cfg over
--overlay beyond avoiding a little bit of directory setup; but an option that
appends to the configuration file would save having to duplicate the 'insmod'
commands that grub-mkrescue already inserts into the configuration file.
