Details:
Hi
I have a Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P with the latest software, currently have 9
hard drives attached
1 x 32 ssd
8 x 1T hd
I installed a adaptec 51645 hardware raid controller
http://www.adaptec.com/en-US/support/raid/sas_raid/SAS-51645/index.htm
I have attached 5 x 2T drives and carved up
lun 0 - 32G
lun 1 - 8T (approx)
when I allow the card to enable its bios and thus boot from lun 0, I get a
welcome to grub<cr>
<cr>
free magic is broken at 0xf000e816: 0xffffffff
Aborted. Press any key to exit.
any key reboot machine.
when i disable the bios I am able to boot the machine with not problem and
linux sees the 8T drive and the 32G lun as well - it is part of a raid set
with 32G ssd.
I am using debian testing/unstable (sid) - grub 1.98-1
I have pictures - but I have copied over the essetianal info. This happens
every times I boot from the ssd and the hardware control has its bios enabled.
When I boot from lun 0 from the adaptec is doesn't even make it the grub text
- and I have grun-installed to that hard drive.
This is a slight problem I had intended on taking out the SSD and using just
the adaptec
Alex
