Follow-up Comment #5, bug #27330 (project grub):
I've solved this problem, my current working configuration is attached.
Running "gfxmode=1680x1050x32; insmod vbe; videotest;" is working too.
I am not sure if I've needed a splashimage for running the right resolution,
when I solved this. Anyway I am attaching my current configuration file
located at /etc/grub.d/05_background.
