Having just “insmod vbe” and
“terminal_output gfxterm” lines in grub.cfg will cause the
computer to reboot using GRUB1.99rc1. Loading a font will prevent this. I've
tested this with a USB
flash when booting a laptop, and using qemu on my desktop. GRUB1.98
does NOT have the same problem, though http://grub.enbug.org/gfxterm
says at least one font should be loaded for text to be displayed.
And also there are 'if' statements in the generated grub.cfg to
prevent this from happening.
