Follow-up Comment #5, bug #34522 (project grub):
Minimal testcase is:
echo -e 3.0.0 \n2.6.38|LC_NUMERIC=de_DE.UTF-8 sort -n
it sorts them in a wrong order but
echo -e 3.0.0 \n2.6.38|LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 LC_NUMERIC=C sort -n
sorts them right.
