Follow-up Comment #1:
My quick test has showed that GRUB doesn't touch numlook setting. And there is
no code to do so other than in sendkey module. Linux, on the other hand has
cleared numlock. So this bugreport is likely misplaced. Observations were done
with looking at LED. Bit 1 in 497 is only about keyboard LED status, not about
keyboard status which is saved in 0x417.
