I stumbled over a problem with grub-mkconfig. My System:
uname -a:
Linux [HOSTNAME] 3.12.5-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Dec 12 12:57:31 CET 2013
x86_64 GNU/Linux
Grub version:
grub-1:2.00.1282.g5ae5c54-1
My Error output:
[HOSTNAME] grub.d # grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg

error: syntax error.
Syntax error at line 198
Syntax errors are detected in generated GRUB config file.
Ensure that there are no errors in /etc/default/grub
and /etc/grub.d/* files or please file a bug report with
/boot/grub/grub.cfg.new file attached.done
you can find my
/etc/default/grub and the created
/boot/grub/grub.cfg.new attached
in a short search for "error at line 198" i found:
