Follow-up Comment #5, bug #45149 (project grub):
Unfortunately 1.99 still fails in automake on Ubuntu 14.04. You can try if it
works on your versions; simply do
git checkout 1.99
./autogen.sh
./configure
make
if it builds and works, we can try bisect.
