Summary: 00_header does not emit "insmod gfxterm_background" when a splash background is configured Project: GNU GRUB Submitted by: coster Submitted on: Wed 17 Jan 2018 05:56:56 PM UTC Category: User Interface Severity: Major Priority: 5 - Normal Item Group: None Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Originator Name: CJ Oster Originator Email: cos...@redhat.com Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Release: Release: Git master Reproducibility: Every Time Planned Release: None _______________________________________________________ Details: When GRUB_BACKGROUND is set and points to a valid image, 00_header does not emit an insmod for gfxterm_background, which is where the `background_image` command lives. I know there are issues with secureboot and EFI regarding loading modules, which this will still silently error, but it will work with secureboot disabled or on legacy bios installation. One-liner to correct attached. _______________________________________________________ File Attachments: ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Wed 17 Jan 2018 05:56:56 PM UTC Name: gfxterm_background.patch Size: 424B By: coster <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/download.php?file_id=42940> _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?52920> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/ _______________________________________________ Bug-grub mailing list Bug-grub@gnu.org https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-grub
