Summary: GRUB lacks support for Zstd (Zstandard) compressed btrfs filesystems Project: GNU GRUB Submitted by: paride Submitted on: Mon 26 Feb 2018 05:29:33 PM UTC Category: Filesystem Severity: Major Priority: 5 - Normal Item Group: Feature Request Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Originator Name: Originator Email: Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Release: Release: 2.02 Reproducibility: Every Time Planned Release: None _______________________________________________________ Details: Linux 4.14 supports Zstd as compression algorithm for btrfs. Unfortunately GRUB doesn't support this configuration, meaning that is not possible to have a Zstd compressed root without a separate /boot partition. As GRUB supports the other btrfs compression algorithms, it would really make sense to support Zstd too. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?53227> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/ _______________________________________________ Bug-grub mailing list Bug-grub@gnu.org https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-grub
