Summary: Wrong keymap (keyboard keys are mixed up) Project: GNU GRUB Submitted by: maniaxx Submitted on: Sun 10 Jun 2018 10:30:43 PM CEST Category: User Interface Severity: Major Priority: 5 - Normal Item Group: Hardware-specific Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Originator Name: Originator Email: Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Release: Release: 2.02 Reproducibility: Every Time Planned Release: None _______________________________________________________ Details: The keyboard key mapping is wrong on a 'Genius' multimedia USB keyboard. The <arrow-up> and <arrow-down> keys are mapped to <p> and <n>. The <enter> key is correct. I've already tried insmod usb, usb-keyboard. ahci, ohci, ehci in various combinations (some lead to freezes due to connected usb hdds)without success. Tested on: GRUB 2.02 (Linux Mint "Tara" 64bit) GRUB 2.01beta (Linux Mint "Sylvia" 64bit) Sandy Bridge (H67 or P67 chipset) on Medion MS-7707 OEM mainboard BIOS is EFI capable but system runs on legacy BIOS/MBR. Disabling "legacy USB" in BIOS disables the keyboard completely in GRUB. Could not check other USB ports yet. Keyboard mapping works properly in BIOS and Linux. I can provide more output (lsusb, dmesg..) if needed. I'm not at the target system atm. Any chance to enforce a different key mapping? _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?54092> _______________________________________________ Message sent via Savannah https://savannah.gnu.org/ _______________________________________________ Bug-grub mailing list Bug-grub@gnu.org https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-grub
