Details:
I am building a Lubuntu system on a USB flash drive and I am able to install
grub on the flash drive with grub-install. I would expect that after running
grub-install the grub.cfg generated with update-grub would be installed in the
device and folders as generated by grub-install. This seems not to be the case
though.
Also when booting the OS on the flash drive I would expect update-grub would
update the grub.cfg that was used to boot the system, but also that doesn't
seem to work.
I am new to booting with EFI/grub and I also don't fully understand the design
philosophy behind grub, so this may not be a bug, but somehow I would expect
update-grub to work differently and/or take also parameters like
--grub-directory and/or --boot-directory and/or --efi-directory about which
grub.cfg is to be updated.
