Summary: Doubled entries in boot menu of Grub2 Project: GNU GRUB Submitted by: waldii Submitted on: Wed 30 Sep 2020 04:09:54 PM UTC Category: Booting Severity: Major Priority: 5 - Normal Item Group: Software Error Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Originator Name: waldii Originator Email: Open/Closed: Open Release: Release: 2.02 Discussion Lock: Any Reproducibility: None Planned Release: None _______________________________________________________ Details: There are several OS on my 2HDs Mint19.1, Mint19.3, Win7. I used Grub-customizer to edit boot menu in Mint19.1, but after upgrading Grub2 everything died. I installed Mint19.3 with Grub2 and everything was ok till kernel updating of old Mint19.1 - new kernel was not activated. So, I removed Grub-customizer and installed Grub2 on good old Mint19.1. Booting was fine but with no menu nor other OS. After installing os-prober I got doubled entries in boot menu - both another linux and Wins. I searched a lot and found there is no solution of the problem. In 2010s people just refused Grub2 and came back to Grub. Editing grub.cfg manually till next update-grub is stupid. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?59207> _______________________________________________ Message sent via Savannah https://savannah.gnu.org/
