Summary: grub-probe fails to identify squashfs/zstd Group: GNU GRUB Submitter: orzel Submitted: Tue 14 May 2024 07:09:59 PM UTC Category: Filesystem Severity: Major Priority: 5 - Normal Item Group: None Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Originator Name: Originator Email: Open/Closed: Open Release: other Release: Discussion Lock: Any Reproducibility: Every Time Planned Release: None _______________________________________________________ Follow-up Comments: ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Tue 14 May 2024 07:09:59 PM UTC By: Thomas Capricelli <orzel> As the title say. A squashfs partition is not recognized ("unknown filesystem") if the compression is 'zstd'. It works well with other compression (lzo for ex). In all tests the partition was "Squashfs filesystem, little endian, version 4.0, xxx compressed" if that matters. Tested with grub 2.12 on a gentoo (standard) amd64 box. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?65746> _______________________________________________ Message sent via Savannah https://savannah.gnu.org/
