Success for me on MS Windows, building in the msys shell.
I've built both static and shared (dynamic) builds, using both mingw.org's
32-bit (gcc-3.4.5) compiler and mingw64.sf's 64-bit (gcc-4.6.0) compiler.
I don't ask for any more than that :-)
